All of The Family Room programs are low barrier and available at no cost to families. Many of our programs are drop-in and you are free to come and bring your children who meet the age requirements. Some programs need enrollment. You can reach out to us to learn more using the email listed for the program you are interested in.

Drop In Playgroups

Crawlers, Waddlers and Toddlers
Drop in, Mondays 10-12
A playgroup for caregivers and their babies, one & two years old. We provide a space for children and caregivers to connect, play, and eat.

Early Months (Baby Massage)
Drop in, Wednesdays 10-12
A soothing environment to learn and practice massage techniques. Best for babies 6 weeks until they are old enough to crawl away. Caregivers will have time to connect and share with others.

Family Play
Drop in, Thursdays 9-12
A playgroup for caregivers and children ages 0-5. Community building, fun learning activities, sharing food, and social connections for everyone.

Family Play at the Gardens
Drop in, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-12 in the summer months
An outdoor playgroup for caregivers and children. We provide workshops, projects for kids, food, and play. You can even sign up to grow your own garden, or help with a shared plot-no experience needed! At the Ethan Allen Homestead Community Gardens.

Echo Early Learning
Drop In, Mondays 9-11, Fridays 9-11:30
A playgroup in partnership with staff from the Echo Center. All families with children ages infant to age 5 are welcome to join the fun at the EEL (ECHO Early Learning) program. Help your child learn and grow through play.

Dads Night

Dads Matter
Enrolled by appointment
Individualized case management for fathers. They will work with staff towards parenting goals, meeting basic needs, and navigating systems.

Dad's Circles
Enrolled, Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:30 and Tuesday evenings 8-9:30
An intimate weekly meeting for dads to discuss issues and ideas about fatherhood. We accept dads of all kinds and ask that attendees prioritize weekly attendance.

African Dads Group
Drop in, Third Saturday of the month, 3-5pm
A support group for African dads to talk about what is coming up with their children and families. We talk about the challenges of maintaining culture and adopting new ways of living. Come learn about other Family Room resources, and enjoy a meal.
Education and Classes

Beginners English Class
Drop in, Thursdays 9:30-10:30
Casual, conversation style class for caregivers to practice and learn English. All levels welcome. Onsite childcare provided during Family Play.

Sewing Class
Enrolled, Thursdays 9-12 during Family Play
Casual learning environment for all skill levels of sewing. Bring your own project or use provided materials to learn sewing skills. Onsite childcare provided during Family Play.

Computer Literacy
Enrolled, Thursdays 4:30-6:30pm
A computer literacy class in collaboration with Burlington School District's Parent University. Students learn basic computer skills to help them increase access to technology.

Childbirth and Postpartum Preparation Classes
By appointment
A class for parents who are pregnant to help them prepare to give birth. The class is taught by Dayva Savio, a CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) trained childbirth educator.

Our pantry supports healthy families and responds to needs. Food, community resources, other household items, and clothing may be available.

Get your child measured for a car seat and get it installed into your car, free of charge.

Families receive individual support as they navigate systems and challenges. Families get information about child development, and emotional support as needed. They receive resources, referrals, and access concrete supports and services.

Healthy Families From the Start Home Visiting
Enrolled, By Appointment
Evidence-based birth and parenting information for families who are pregnant or have a new baby. Relationship based support and education offered through one-on-one visits and group gatherings. We work together with community partners to provide a continuum of care during the early months with a new baby.

Strong Families Group
Enrolled, Tuesdays 9:30-11:30
Moms group to connect, support, and explore various topics about parenting, and self-care techniques. On-site provided offered.

Super Group
Enrolled, Mondays and Saturdays
This group is especially designed for families that have children with autism, and their siblings. The group holds space for connections, sharing experiences, peer support and play!

Community Orientation Program

A program that supports families as they navigate systems and challenges. Families get information about child development, and emotional support as needed. They receive resources, referrals, and access concrete supports and services (services offered in Spanish).
Once a month, Family Room staff and community partners host an event to help families complete forms, applications, and help with paperwork. For Spanish speaking families, with Spanish interpretation provided.
Health and Wellness

Building Strong Families Clinic
By appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays
The clinic gives parents and children of immigrant families a safe place to be themselves with health care providers. Families can connect with community resources and other parents in their neighborhood. Interpreting services provided.

DULCE
Enrolled, at Community Health Center
Developmental Understanding and Legal Collaboration for Everyone (DULCE) provides support and resources to families during pediatric appointments. These take place at the Community Health Center, Riverside location.
Preschool

A 5-star community preschool for children aged 3-5. This play-based learning community is inspired by nature and neighborhood. It encourages social-emotional learning, and builds upon strengths and curiosities.
